Institutional profile
The Slovenian Science Foundation was established in 1994 by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and 16 other founders,
including some of the most prominent Slovenian organisations in research, education, business, finance and the media, to provide moral
and financial support to scientific, economic and social development in Slovenia. The SSF conducts several activities, among them are
providing financial and moral support to Slovenian researchers and graduate students, supporting international science co-operation
and implementing the programmes »Raising Public Understanding of Science and Technology« and »Fostering a Knowledge-based Society
in Slovenia«.
Through its activities, the SSF fosters the development of new achievements and technologies. It also encourages the expansion
of knowledge and emphasises the importance of intellectual potential for the development of Slovenian society.
